Description
The detection of IgG antibodies to Chlamydia trachomatis indicates a past or chronic infection. The test is used to diagnose infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, and to assess post-infection immunity.
When and who needs the test?
- Couples with unexplained infertility (especially tuboperitoneal infertility);
- Women with chronic pelvic inflammatory diseases;
- If a past infection is suspected;
- During preparation for IVF or donor programs;
- As a screening test for patients at risk for chronic chlamydia.
