Description
Herpes simplex virus (HSV) type 1 is a pathogen from the group of herpes infections, which provokes the appearance of a herpes rash on the skin and mucous membranes of the face. Immune cells respond to the presence of a virus in the body by secreting antibodies. Determination of IgG antibodies in the blood allows confirmation of type 1 HSV infection both now and in the past.
The test is used to diagnose herpes in the active phase and during convalescence, its differential diagnosis with other infectious diseases
