Description
The ‘Folate Metabolism Mini’ package is a minimal set of tests that is essential for predicting and assessing the risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease, and intrauterine developmental abnormalities during pregnancy due to changes in folate metabolism and increased homocysteine levels, as well as for determining the possibility of developing pathology in progeny.
When and who needs the test?
When?
- Women planning a pregnancy or in the early stages of pregnancy.
- As part of a workup for infertility patients or after miscarriages.
- In the case of the birth of a child with isolated neural tube, heart, or urogenital tract defects.
- In the case of the birth of a child with chromosomal syndromes (with a normal parental karyotype).
