Description

Women's oncological panel is a complex of tumor markers that allow assessing the risks of the most common cancers in women: breast (CA 15-3), ovaries (two tumor markers CA 125 and HE 4 with the calculation of the risk of ovarian cancer for women of pre- and menopausal age, – index ROMA), uterus and bladder (oncomarker Cyfra CA 21-1 (cytokeratin 19 fragment)), digestive tract and some cancers of other organs (cancer-embryonic antigen (PEA, CEA)), thyroid gland (calcitonin), cervical cancer in some cases of other localizations of cancer of the epithelium of the neck, head, lungs (antigen of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)).

These tests are recommended for women for a comprehensive risk assessment of a wide range of cancers, especially if one of the relatives has or had cancer.

In case of a change in the tumor marker, an additional examination is necessary, since an increase in indicators can be observed not only in the case of cancer, but also in inflammatory and benign processes.

It is desirable to supplement the package with an assessment of the risk of cervical cancer – package No. 129 ‘Cervical screening’, which includes optimal liquid cytology and detection of human papillomavirus, which is the cause of cervical cancer.

When and who needs the test?

It is recommended to take this package to assess the risks of developing the most common forms of cancer in women.
