Description
β-CrossLaps is a breakdown product of type I collagen (a key component of bone tissue). The level of β-CrossLaps is an indicator of bone resorption activity (breakdown or destruction of bone tissue).
This test is widely used both to diagnose conditions that lead to bone destruction and to assess the effectiveness of treatment. It is advisable to evaluate β-CrossLaps levels in combination with parathyroid hormone levels and kidney function tests.
