Description
Eosinophilic cationic protein is a protein that is secreted from eosinophil granules and is involved in the development of atopic dermatitis, asthma, allergic rhinitis, and food allergies. Its concentration in blood serum is determined to assess the activity of these diseases and monitor their treatment. The destructive effect of ECB can also be directed to the body's own tissues.
Symptoms of this effect are redness, itching, smooth muscle spasm (for example, bronchial constriction).
