1256. PRISCA I trimester (10 w.p.+0 d. - 13 w.p.+6 d.)

PRISCA is a first-trimester screening for fetal chromosomal abnormalities. Recommended timing: 11+1–13+6 weeks of pregnancy. It determines the risk of trisomies 21, 18, and 13 based on PAPP-A and free β-hCG levels, ultrasound data, and individual maternal parameters.

First Trimester PRISCA is a non-invasive prenatal test that combines biochemical parameters, ultrasound data, and individual maternal characteristics to calculate the individual risk of chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus using specialized PRISCA (Prenatal Risk Calculation) software.

The test is performed between 10+0 and 13+6 weeks of gestation, with the recommended interval being 11+1 to 13+6 weeks. The test includes the determination of two biochemical markers in the serum: free β-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) and PAPP-A (pregnancy-associated protein A).

PRISCA assesses the risk of trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome). When combined with ultrasound data, PRISCA identifies pregnant women with an increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities and forms an appropriate group for further testing.

In accordance with Order No. 1437 of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated August 9, 2022, 'On Approval of the Standards of Medical Care for Normal Pregnancy,' prenatal screening in the first trimester is recommended for all pregnant women with a normal pregnancy.

Testing is especially important in the following cases:

• the woman is 35 years of age or older;
• the presence of congenital or chromosomal abnormalities in the family;
• the presence of Down, Edwards, or Patau syndromes in previous pregnancies;
• structural changes or pathology markers detected during an ultrasound.
