Description
Chlorine is one of the basic natural trace elements in the human body. It provides acid-base, osmotic balance, balance of water in the tissues of the body, participates in the processes of digestion.
The bulk of chlorine is excreted
from the body by the kidneys (the minimum amount is with sweat and feces).
Determining the levels of chlorine in the urine allows you to objectively
assess both its content in the body and the adequacy of the filtration function
of the kidneys.
When and who needs the test?
- identification of the causes of water-electrolyte imbalance;
- assessment of renal functions, the effectiveness of treatment of disorders in the balance of electrolytes;
- diagnosis of intrarenal acidosis.

RULES FOR COLLECTING BIOMATERIAL
A spontaneous morning urine sample is used.
- Collect urine for 24 hours, maintaining a normal drinking regime.
- After waking up in the morning, empty your bladder (this portion of urine is poured into the toilet).
