Description
Creatinine is the end product of creatine and phosphate metabolism and is involved in providing energy to muscle tissue. The intensity of creatinine by the kidneys depends on the metabolism of muscle proteins, the filtration and excretory function of the kidneys.
The study of creatinine levels in the urine is
indicated for kidney disease, arterial hypertension, sepsis, shock. It should
be taken in combination with the determination of creatinine in the blood,
creatine phosphokinase, urea, urea nitrogen, ammonia.
When and who needs the test?
- acute and chronic renal dysfunction;
- diabetes;
- pathology of the endocrine glands (thyroid gland, pituitary gland, adrenal glands);
- pregnancy;
- decreased muscle mass.
