Description
The Antiphospholipid Syndrome 1 package is a screening recommended to identify the risk of developing or monitoring the antiphospholipid syndrome. Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an acquired autoimmune hypercoagulable syndrome characterized by venous and/or arterial thrombosis and/or pregnancy complications and the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies.
This condition is in some cases critical and requires immediate diagnosis and treatment.
Indications for use – the presence of other indirect signs of antiphospholipid syndrome:
- symptoms of damage to the heart valves (vegetations, thickening, dysfunction), reticular livedo, nephropathy, thrombocytopenia, preeclampsia, chorea, epilepsy;
- a history of venous or arterial thrombosis in a young patient, the presence of autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus).
