This panel allows for the assessment of thyroid function and the detection of autoimmune processes affecting the gland

Panel No. 3 is a diagnostic set of tests designed for screening autoimmune thyroid disorders. These conditions are often associated with symptoms such as weight gain or loss, enlargement or shrinkage of the thyroid gland, memory problems, heart rhythm disturbances, throat discomfort, difficulty swallowing, voice changes, speech disorders, shortness of breath, infertility, and menstrual irregularities.

This panel includes tests for thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies (anti-TPO), and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (anti-Tg). These tests are essential for assessing thyroid and pituitary function and for diagnosing conditions such as Graves’ disease (diffuse toxic goiter), Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and postpartum thyroiditis.

Screening for triiodothyronine and thyroxine is prescribed in combination.
