1127. D-dimer
Description
D-dimer is a substance that is formed during the breakdown of fibrin, which forms the basis of a blood clot. Its levels directly depend on the activity of fibrinolysis (breakdown of fibrin) in the body. The detection of a positive D-dimer result indicates the presence of foci of thrombosis in the body. The analysis is used to diagnose pulmonary thromboembolism, disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome, deep vein thrombosis, assess the risk of thrombosis and the effectiveness of their treatment. The analysis is carried out in conjunction with a coagulogram or package number 282 with the control of treatment.
