Description
Complement component C3 is an acute phase protein involved in cytolysis and anaphylaxis. An increase in its level is noted in the case of infectious diseases (ARVI, pneumonia), systemic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis), diabetes mellitus, myocardial infarction, and tumors. Reduction – with sepsis, SLE, hepatitis B, AIDS, Sjögren's syndrome.
This test is indicated for frequent recurrent infectious diseases to confirm complement deficiency, as well as to monitor the activity of autoimmune diseases.
In the complex, an test is prescribed for complement C4, IgA, IgG, IgM.
