Description for the clientCyclic citrulline-containing peptide is an amino acid to which antibodies are formed in the case of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) – an autoimmune disease affecting the joints (pain, redness, limited mobility, especially in the morning) and other organs. IgG to cyclic citrulline-containing peptide is a specific marker that appears very early, when other indicators may still be absent.
The test is used for early diagnosis and prognosis of the course of RA, differential diagnosis with other diseases affecting the joints. The complex is prescribed tests for IgG antibodies to citrullinated vimentin, rheumatoid factor and C-reactive protein.
When and who needs the test?
- early diagnosis of RA;
- diagnosis of seronegative (by rheumatoid factor) forms of rheumatoid arthritis;
- differential diagnosis of articular syndrome;
- formation of therapeutic strategies.
