Description

The panel makes it possible to assess the synthesis levels of the main pituitary hormones that regulate the functioning of the reproductive system, as well as progesterone in the second phase of the menstrual cycle.

Panel №34 is a comprehensive set of tests designed to monitor the second phase of the menstrual cycle. The second phase begins after ovulation, which lasts from 24 to 72 hours and occurs with a sharp increase in luteinizing hormone levels, causing the mature follicle to rupture and the egg to enter the fallopian tube. The second phase ends on the first day of menstruation (if pregnancy has not occurred).

This panel includes tests for luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, prolactin, and progesterone. Since hormone levels depend on the day of the menstrual cycle, the tests should be performed according to a physician’s recommendations or on the 5th–6th day after ovulation (approximately days 21–22 in a 28-day menstrual cycle).

The analysis is recommended for women to diagnose ovulation disorders, identify causes of infertility, and for screening during pregnancy planning.

It is advisable to complement this panel with tests assessing hormonal status (thyroid-stimulating hormone, free testosterone index, cortisol, DHEA-S) and ultrasound.

When and who needs the test?

It is recommended that this panel be taken by patients with disorders in the reproductive sphere (disorders of puberty, menstrual cycle abnormalities, infertility, etc.) to assess the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle.
