1102. Thrombin time (TT)
Description
Thrombin time is a study that allows you to evaluate the process of blood clotting in the body. Thrombin time changes in the presence of quantitative or functional changes on the part of factors that ensure the operation of the blood coagulation system.
It is used to diagnose disorders in this system, to predict the development of DIC and thrombosis, and to control their treatment. Should be studied in conjunction with other indicators of the blood coagulation system, for example, packet number 282 or coagulogram.
When and who needs the test?
- diagnostics of quantitative (hypo (a) fibrinogenemias) and qualitative disorders (acquired dysfibrinogenemias in liver diseases, paraneoplastic dysfibrinogenemias, autoimmune diseases and hereditary dysfibrinogenemias) as causes of increased bleeding (metro-, menorrhagia, epistaxis, bleeding in soft tissues) postoperative period) or a tendency to thrombosis (phlebothrombosis, thromboembolism of the branches of the pulmonary artery, arterial thrombosis), as well as a combination of both conditions;
- in a complex examination to find out the causes of recurrent miscarriage, the development of pre- and eclampsia, PONRP;
- assessment of the risk of developing disseminated intravascular coagulation (in severe infectious diseases, acute and chronic leukemia, complications of pregnancy and childbirth, autoimmune diseases), diagnosis and control of treatment.
Biological material
- Venous blood
