Description
Package No. 4.6 is a set of tests for examining the level of bilirubin and its fractions. Bilirubin is a bile pigment, which is the main component of bile, including direct and indirect bilirubin, which are its fractions.
Indications for appointment:
- determination and assessment of the degree of increase in bilirubin;
- differential diagnosis of different types of jaundice (study of bilirubin fractions);
- pathology of the liver and biliary tract; hemolytic anemias.
Bilirubin can be increased with increased intensity of erythrocyte hemolysis, jaundice, toxic damage to the liver tissue, in cases where the level of liver enzymes decreases.
A decrease in total bilirubin and its fractions is observed for non-hemolytic anemia in premature babies.
Symptoms of liver disease include: pain in the right hypochondrium, skin itching, pale skin and visible mucous membranes, discolored stools, dark urine.
