Description
C-peptide is an inactive substance formed after insulin is separated from proinsulin. Measuring C-peptide levels allows one to assess insulin secretion. C-peptide is eliminated from the body significantly longer than insulin, and its levels are not affected by insulin treatment or the presence of insulin antibodies, increasing the reliability and accuracy of the results.
