Description
Urea is the end product of protein metabolism. Urea appears in the liver and is excreted by the kidneys. As a result, a pathological change in the level of this substance in the blood indicates the development of diseases of the liver or kidneys.
The study of urea helps to assess impaired renal function, diagnose
renal and hepatic insufficiency, and determine the effectiveness of treatment.
