1057. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)
Description
Lactate dehydrogenase is an intracellular enzyme that ensures the metabolism of lactic acid in the tissues of the heart, muscles, liver, kidneys, lungs, and brain. The destruction of the cells of these organs leads to the release of a large amount of lactate dehydrogenase into the blood. Its study is used to diagnose myocardial infarction, embolism and pulmonary infarction.
Determination of lactate dehydrogenase should be in combination with AST, creatine phosphokinase, creatinine, total bilirubin.
