1055. Creatinine
Description
Creatinine
is the end product of creatine and creatine phosphate metabolism and plays an
important role in energy metabolism in muscle and other tissues. Normally,

its levels in the blood increase. This phenomenon is used to diagnose kidney
diseases (renal failure, etc.). Creatinine levels should be studied in
conjunction with the determination of cystatin C, urea and urea nitrogen.
