Description
Comprehensive prenatal screening (ASTRAIA) is a modern method for the early detection of fetal chromosomal abnormality risks (trisomies 21, 18, and 13) based on the assessment of biochemical markers, ultrasound parameters, and individual maternal data. The analysis is performed using internationally recognized ASTRAIA software in accordance with FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation) standards. This approach allows for highly accurate calculation of the individual risk of congenital developmental disorders and prompt clinical decisions regarding further management, such as monitoring, additional testing, or referral for NIPT. It is recommended for all pregnant women in the first trimester.
When and who needs the test?
When:
From 11 weeks + 0 days to 13 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy (according to ultrasound data).
It is during this period that biochemical and ultrasound parameters are most informative for calculating individual risk.
Recommended for:
All pregnant women in the first trimester, according to the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated August 9, 2022, No. 1437, 'On Approval of the Standards of Medical Care ""Normal Pregnancy"".'
Women wishing to receive a risk assessment for chromosomal abnormalities, preeclampsia, preterm birth, and fetal growth restriction syndrome (FGR).
Patients with increased reproductive risk:
- Age 35+
- Complications in previous pregnancies (miscarriages, preterm birth, fetal growth restriction, etc.)
- Multiple pregnancies
- History of chromosomal abnormalities in previous pregnancies or in the family.
Please note: To have the calculation performed, you must provide a doctor’s referral that must include the FMF certificate (license) number of the specialist who performed the ultrasound, as well as the results of the ultrasound performed by a certified FMF specialist. Before contacting the Laboratory Synevo, we recommend verifying that the doctor who performed the ultrasound examination has a valid FMF certificate (license).
