1001. Thyroid peroxidase, antibodies (ATPO)
Description
Thyroid peroxidase is an enzyme involved in the production of the hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine. Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are produced when the immune system mistakenly identifies this enzyme as a foreign substance.
