Description
Human T-lymphotropic virus is a virus from the delta retrovirus genus. Infection and the course of the disease are most often asymptomatic. The presence of this virus in the body increases the risk of developing oncological diseases of the lymphoid and hematopoietic systems.
Determination of total antibodies allows you to confirm the presence of the virus in the body.
The test is used to diagnose infectious processes provoked by the virus and identify its carriage. In addition, it can be used to assess the risk of developing cancer.
When and who needs the test?
Recommended at the initial stage of diagnostic search for symptoms of malignant neoplasms of lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues and demyelinating diseases, signs of muscular dystrophy after a trip abroad or after unprotected contact.
