Description
IL-1β is a pro-inflammatory cytokine involved in the body's defense against the action of pathogenic agents.
An increase in the level of IL-1β is observed in bacterial infections, autoimmune diseases (RA, SLE), AIDS, leukemia, inflammatory diseases, and a decrease in viral infections of the respiratory tract (influenza, parainfluenza), lung cancer, psoriasis.
This test is produced to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of infectious diseases. Also used as a marker of immunoreactivity in preterm infants.
The complex prescribes tests for IL-4, IL-6, IgA, IgM.
When and who needs the test?
- monitoring and evaluation of effectiveness during antiviral, antibacterial or immunomodulatory therapy;
- in premature newborns – a marker of immunoreactivity.

In order to exclude factors that may affect the test results, we recommend to follow the preparation rules:
- an important condition for laboratory tests is to take blood on an empty stomach.
