Description
Penicillin B belongs to the group of penicillin’s – a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. Allergic reactions to penicillin’s develop as a result of the production of IgE on metabolites of the β-lactam ring.
Allergy to penicillin occurs quite often and manifests itself in the form of diseases such as urticaria, atopic dermatitis, angioedema, allergic rhinitis, and allergic conjunctivitis.
During systemic administration of this drug, anaphylactic shock is also possible. Very often, with sensitization to penicillin, there are cross-allergic reactions to semisynthetic penicillins, cephalosporins, monobactam, carbapenemam.
