9232. Allergen. Extract. Horse epidermis (e3), IgE antibodies
Description
Allergies can be caused not only by wool and dandruff, but also by horse ammunition. Animal allergens can be carried with human clothing, inventory, household items, they can be present even in places where there are no horses themselves.
Most often, allergies manifest themselves in the form of bronchial asthma (dry cough, shortness of breath, shortness of breath, wheezing in the chest), allergic rhinitis (itchy nose, runny nose or nasal congestion, uncontrolled sneezing), conjunctivitis (redness, itching and burning in the eye area, lacrimation, photophobia), nasopharyngitis, asthma attacks. Angioedema (angioneurotic edema) may occur.
Cross-allergies can be caused by horse feed, hay and sawdust, which are always present in the stable. IgE to the epidermis of a horse should be taken in combination with a test of sensitization to other animals.
When and who needs the test?
- recommended for detection of sensitization to the allergen on the epithelium of the horse in children and adults;
- to control ongoing drug treatment and allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT).
