Description
Plums are classified as moderate allergens (without considering individual characteristics). The most common manifestations of allergies are: digestive system – allergic stomatitis, cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis; skin – atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, and respiratory organs – allergic rhinitis, asthma.
Often there is a cross-allergy to tree pollen (birch, alder, hazel), latex. Eating plums is contraindicated in aspirin bronchial asthma.
The determination of specific immunoglobulin E to this allergen in an increased amount indicates the presence of sensitization to this allergen.
