Description
Allergy to salmon, as a rule, is accompanied by dysfunction of the digestive system (cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis), skin manifestations (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema) and, less frequently, dysfunction of the respiratory system (allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma).
Ways of exposure to antigens:
- food – when eating fish and seafood;
- contact – with tactile contact with the fish during its processing;
- respiratory – through the respiratory tract when in a room where a fish dish is prepared.
When and who needs the test?
Recommended for the diagnosis of allergic diseases (food allergy, atopic dermatitis, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, respiratory allergy); to determine sensitization to salmon.
