Description
Intestinal neoplasms are a group of benign or malignant tumors that can be located in various sections of the large intestine. They most commonly develop from the intestinal mucosa, although other tissues may also serve as a source of growth. The stage of invasive growth begins when the tumor starts to penetrate the basal membrane and extends beyond its initial site of localization.
PMF study involves the preparation of histological tissue specimens followed by microscopic examination, which allows for the identification of cellular composition, detection of pathological changes, verification of the diagnosis, and selection of a treatment plan.
When and who needs the test?
The biological sample is collected by a physician. The laboratory receives the already collected specimen.
The examination is performed to obtain additional information for determining the characteristics of the disease progression, the severity of the lesion, as well as to define the prognosis, scope, and treatment plan
