Description

These are methods for assessing the cellularity of bone marrow and its cellular composition. To obtain and examine bone marrow, a biopsy is performed: aspiration, percutaneous trepanobiopsy.

Most indications require both types of biopsy. In some cases (for example, diagnosis of primary immune thrombocytopenia; diagnosis, assessment of remission after treatment of acute leukemia, etc.), it is sufficient to perform an aspiration biopsy.

When and who needs the test?

Biological material for examination is collected only by a doctor. Ready, collected material is delivered to the laboratory.

The test is taken to obtain additional information to establish the characteristics of the course, severity of the lesion to determine the prognosis and treatment plan
