8004. PMF. IHC (immunohistochemistry_marker p16)
Important information
- Brought-in biomaterial is submitted for analysis.
- Ordering the analysis is only possible with a special referral from a physician.
- Ordering PMF services. IHC (immunohistochemistry) is possible together with the pathomorphology service or as an add-on to a previously ordered pathomorphological service.
- Paraffin blocks brought by the patient can be ordered as a standalone service.
Description
Pathomorphological examination using the immunohistochemical marker p16 is a method of morphological tissue assessment aimed at detecting p16 protein expression and clarifying the nature of changes in the squamous epithelium.
When and who needs the test?
- when immunohistochemical assessment of p16 marker expression is required within a pathomorphological examination;
- in cases of morphological changes in the squamous epithelium that require clarification;
- to assess disturbances of cell cycle regulation in tissue;
- as an additional method of morphological assessment in the evaluation of epithelial lesions;
- in complex pathomorphological cases requiring expanded morphological characterization.
Biological material
- Various types of biopsy material depending on the test
