3133. PCR. HPV 6, 11 (qualitative determination)
Description
HPV (human papillomavirus) is a virus from the papillomavirus family. It is the most common causative agent of a group of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and is characterized by a high affinity for skin and mucous cells. Genotypes 6 and 11 are considered the most common among all types of the virus. They are a common cause of genital warts and warts.
Qualitative determination of these virus genotypes makes it possible to diagnose HPV.
The test is best combined with the qualitative and quantitative determination of virus genotypes with a high carcinogenic risk.
When and who needs the test?
- the presence of genital warts;
- detection of papillomavirus infection of the 6th or 11th type;
- pathology of the cervix, in particular dysplasia;
- monitoring the effectiveness of treatment.
