3132. PCR. Herpes virus type 6 (u/g scraping, quantification)
Description
This test detects whether the herpes virus type 6 (HHV-6) is active in the genital mucosa. It is recommended for inflammation, rashes of unknown origin, recurrent infections, or in cases of weakened immunity.
When and who needs the test?
- For rash, itching, burning, or inflammation in the genital area;
- For persistent or recurrent urogenital infections without identified pathogens;
- For patients with weakened immune systems (HIV, cancer, post-transplant);
- For suspected HHV-6 as a concomitant or underlying infection in gynecological or urological conditions;
- To monitor viral activity and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy;
- For couples planning pregnancy, if they have viral urogenital symptoms.
