Description
Herpes simplex viruses type 1 and 2 are pathogens from the group of herpes infections that provoke the development of herpes on the skin and mucous membranes of the face, in the perineum, buttocks, and extremities.
Determination of the genetic material of viruses in the blood makes it possible to confirm infection with herpes viruses of types 1 and 2 with high accuracy.
The test is used to diagnose herpes types 1 and 2 during exacerbations and identify carriage.
When and who needs the test?
- For severe or generalized herpes.
- For internal organ damage of unknown etiology.
