Description

Epstein-Barr virus, cytomegalovirus and herpesvirus type 6 are among the most common pathogens from the TORCH group of infections. They pose a danger to pregnant women due to the possibility of complications during pregnancy and the occurrence of malformations in the child.

Determination of the genetic material of these viruses in the urogenital scraping allows you to confirm infection with them and indirectly assess the activity of the infectious process.

The test is widely used as a screening during pregnancy to timely identify the risks associated with infection and prevent them.

When and who needs the test?

It is recommended to take this test to decide on the start of antiviral therapy and to monitor the effectiveness of treatment.
