* For this test, you must submit the first morning urine sample in a vacuum tube containing boric acid.

* Please purchase a special urine collection kit in advance (which includes a container with a needle holder and a vacuum tube containing boric acid).

Description

Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 are widespread (more than 90% of people are infected). They are the cause of herpes on the face, in the perineum, buttocks, limbs. High probability of damage by viruses and organs of the genitourinary system.

Determination of the genetic material of viruses in the urine allows us to confirm the penetration of herpes viruses of type 1 and / or type 2 into the urinary tract.

The test is used to diagnose herpetic lesions of the genitourinary system.

When and who needs the test?

  • For discomfort, pain, or burning during urination.
  • If genital herpes is suspected, especially without a rash.
  • To detect active HSV infection in immunocompromised patients.
  • Pregnant women – if they have symptoms or there is a high risk of fetal infection.
  • In children or newborns – if intrauterine or neonatal infection is suspected.
  • As part of a comprehensive examination for viral urethritis or cervicitis.

  • Urine is collected before the start of treatment with antibacterial/antifungal drugs.
  • In case of treatment monitoring – 14 days after the end of the course of treatment with antibacterial/antifungal drugs.
  • Urine cannot be collected from bed linen or a urine bag.
