3041. PCR. Hepatitis D (blood, qualitative determination, Real-time)
Description
Hepatitis D virus (HDV) is an infectious agent that parasitizes the hepatitis B virus. Infection with hepatitis D is possible only together with infection with hepatitis B.
The addition of hepatitis D complicates the course of hepatitis B.
The test is widely used for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of viral hepatitis.
The test should be taken along with the determination of antigens or antibodies to hepatitis B and C viruses.
When and who needs the test?
- diagnostics of co-infection with hepatitis D virus in patients with viral hepatitis B;
- control of hepatitis D virus superinfection in patients with chronic hepatitis B, in HBsAg carriers;
- clinic of acute hepatitis with negative results for HBsAg;
- monitoring of viremia in patients with diagnosed viral hepatitis B and D.
