Description

Anti-nucleosome antibodies are a sensitive marker of systemic lupus erythematosus. They are determined exclusively in SLE, often complicated by kidney damage (lupus nephritis).

Ribosomal protein (Rib-P), IgG antibodies are detected in 10-20% of SLE patients in the active phase of the disease; they are rarely found in patients with other ADs.

When and who needs the test?

  • recommended for diagnosing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE);
  • for differential diagnosis of some autoimmune diseases;
  • for monitoring the course and assessing the progression of rheumatic diseases.

In order to exclude factors that may affect the test results, we recommend to follow the preparation rules:

  • an important condition for laboratory tests is to take blood on an empty stomach.
