Description
ImmunoCAP is a method of diagnosing hypersensitivity to one of the main antigens of the fungus Alternaria alternata, based on the determination of blood levels of allergen-specific immunoglobulins of class E. Fungal allergens, especially Alternaria alternata, Aspergilus fumigatus, Cladosporium herbarum and Penicillium spp, cause type I allergic reactions – respiratory allergies and atopic dermatitis. The relationship between sensitization to Alternaria alternata fungus antigens and development of severe bronchial asthma in young children has been proved.
