Description
Common wheat (Triticum aestivum) is a genus of herbaceous plants in the grass family (cereals), one of the most important cereal grains in the world. There are many species and varieties of wheat, including hybrids.
Wheat allergies can be food-related or respiratory. Respiratory allergies, also known as baker's asthma, can occur in individuals with allergies to meadow grass pollen. Wheat flour and pollen contain several similar allergens, but patients with a food allergy to wheat are typically not sensitized to wheat pollen.
