Biomaterial
2350. Allergen. Antibiotic. Azithromycin (с194), IgE antibodies
Description
The use of azithromycin, like any other medical drugs, may lead to the development of an immediate-type allergic reaction. This test detects and measures the levels of specific IgE antibodies in the blood that are produced by the human immune system in response to azithromycin. Elevated levels indicate an allergic reaction to azithromycin. The test is safe for humans compared to skin testing, as it eliminates direct contact with the allergen. In addition, the use of antihistamines and the patient's age do not affect the quality or accuracy of the results.
When and who needs the test?
