Description
Package No. 609 is a comprehensive test to identify sensitization to the main allergenic components of a chicken egg. Allergy symptoms can appear as early as 3-5 minutes after contact with the allergen, as a rule, they increase over time to a maximum after 2-3 hours. Clinically, allergic reactions are manifested by swelling of the throat, red skin rashes with severe itching (the rash can be localized on the arms and legs (especially on the elbows and under the knees), in the abdomen and back, less often on the face. Gastrointestinal disorders, itching in the nose, watery eyes, runny nose, bronchial obstruction, and on contact with the skin – contact dermatitis, or contact urticaria. Severe allergic reactions are possible, up to Quincke's edema and anaphylactic shock.
In addition to the study of IgE, an IgG test for food allergens is usually taken in order to select optimal dietary changes with the exclusion or rotation of individual food components, which can significantly improve the patient's condition.
When and who needs the test?
Recommended in diagnostics for children with atopic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea after eating eggs and foods containing eggs.
