Description

The TORCH IgG: TOXO, RUB, CMV, HSV-1, HSV-2, Parvovirus B19 package is a comprehensive laboratory screening aimed at detecting TORCH infections.

TORCH infections is the medical abbreviation for the first letters of a set of infectious diseases transmitted from a pregnant woman to her fetus (perinatal infections). They can lead to serious anomalies in fetal development or even death.

This screening is elaborated to detect a previous infection or the presence of immunity to a particular disease.

The presented package includes the identification of cytomegalovirus, herpes virus types 1 and 2, toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii), rubella, parvovirus (Parvovirus B19). The test should be taken at the time of registration and pregnancy planning.
