1310. Allergen. Extract. Rat epithelium (e73), IgE antibodies
Description
The majority cases of rat allergies are IgE-mediated allergic reactions. Sensitization to rodents kept as pets (guinea pig, hamster, rabbit) is rare, but can still be the cause of an allergic disease.
The main allergens in rats are the epidermis, saliva, secretions, etc. Rat allergens are usually attached to small dust particles that float in the air for a long time, and also settle on furniture, carpets, and draperies. Allergy symptoms are manifested in the form of coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, chest tightness, nasal congestion, rash, etc. Removing the animal from the house is not always enough for recovery - animal allergens are found inside the house for another 5-6 months.
This test is important in the diagnosis of bronchial asthma, respiratory allergies, allergic conjunctivitis in people in contact with rats (both as pets and periodic contact with wild pest rats).
