Description
FibroTest is a computational algorithm designed to evaluate the spread and activity of fibrosis.
Fibrosis is the growth of connective tissue in damaged areas of the organ. The use of this analysis is advisable in the presence of viral hepatitis B and C. FibroTest is inherently intended for the same purposes as a biopsy, but it has several advantages: high accuracy of results regardless of the location of fibrosis, detection of the degree of the disease already at the initial stage, non-invasiveness method.
To calculate the result, such indicators as α-2-macroglobulin, haptoglobin, apolipoprotein A-1, total bilirubin, γ-glutamate transferase, ALT are required.
Indications for the test: alcohol consumption, diabetes mellitus, increased cholesterol levels in confirmed chronic viral hepatitis.In the complex, it is possible to carry out the Fibromax test, in which AST, triglycerides, cholesterol, glucose are additionally evaluated.
