Description
Lab Test Package 6.1 includes a range of tests for the primary screening of infectious hepatitis, an inflammatory disease of the liver caused by various strains of the hepatitis virus. Viral hepatitis has a similar clinical picture, which is manifested by malaise, nausea, vomiting, weakness, yellowing of the skin and sclera, itching of the skin.
This package is used to diagnose acute hepatitis A (Hepatitis A virus (HAV), IgM antibodies), hepatitis B (Hepatitis B virus (HBV), HBsAg (Australian antigen); Hepatitis B virus (HBV), HBcorAg, IgM antibodies), hepatitis C (Hepatitis C virus (HCV), total antibodies). It also includes markers of liver pathology (ALT, AST, GGT, ALP), which can be elevated in any hepatitis or other liver disease.
Additionally, it is advisable to perform a liver biopsy or FibroTest to determine the activity of fibrosis and predict the severity of the disease.
When and who needs the test?
The test can be used to detect asymptomatic forms of hepatitis, differential diagnosis of hepatitis of various etiologies:
- viral hepatitis A;
- viral hepatitis B;
- chronic viral hepatitis C.
The test is recommended to be taken if infection with viral hepatitis is suspected in the absence of any clinical manifestations; for differential diagnosis of viral hepatitis A, B, C.
