Description
Testing for HIV, hepatitis B and C, as well as syphilis, is a mandatory procedure before many surgical interventions. These tests are also performed during pregnancy, hospitalization, and as part of lifetime screening. A complete blood count provides additional evidence-based information about the overall health status and the possible consequences of these viral infections.
When and who needs the test?
This package is used to determine the status of bloodborne infections – HIV, HBV, HCV, and STIs (specifically syphilis) – during annual screening examinations, preoperative evaluation, hospitalization, blood donation, or dialysis procedures; screening of pregnant women; and differential diagnosis in the presence of symptoms of one of these infections.
