Description
Blood group and Rh factor testing, as well as laboratory tests for HIV, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis, are mandatory before many surgical procedures. These tests are also conducted during pregnancy, hospitalization, and as part of lifetime screening.
When and who needs the test?
This package is used to determine blood group along with Rh factor and the status of bloodborne infections – HIV, HBV, HCV, and STIs (specifically syphilis) – during annual screening examinations, preoperative evaluation, hospitalization, blood donation, or dialysis procedures; screening of pregnant women; and differential diagnosis in the presence of symptoms of one of these infections.
