2303. Allergen. Molecule. Cat (rFel d2), IgE antibodies
Description
The cat is the most common cause of allergies compared to other pets. Many people mistakenly believe that animal hair is the cause of allergies. In fact, wool is a carrier of the allergen, but it is itself safe. Allergy to rFel d2 protein accounts for 15-25% of the total number of patients with cat allergy.
Major cat allergens (Fel d1 and Fel d2) can remain indoors for weeks or months after the animal is removed. Determination of antibodies to recombinant allergens makes it possible to identify the leading component in the composition of complex allergens at the level of molecular allergology.
Determination of sensitivity to feline albumin rFel d2 is useful for assessing the probable cross-sensitization not only to porcine serum albumin, but also to albumin of other mammals. Timely diagnosis allows you to avoid allergic complications and conduct specific therapy.
